Diane Harper

Creston

Diane Harper, 77, of Creston died Monday, May 6, 2019, at EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.

Memorial gathering with family present will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., in Creston. Burial will be at a later date. Open visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are to her family. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Margaret Diane (Long) Harper, daughter of Marjorie Helen (Hood) Long and James Gale Long, was born March 16, 1942, in Creston. She attended Creston schools and graduated with the class of 1960.

Diane and Bud Harper shared many years together in Creston, where they owned and operated Union Street Station.

Diane was a member and past president of the Tri County Pool League and a former member of the Eagles Club in Creston.

Diane is survived by her husband Bud Harper of Creston; sons, Shane Harper of Boone and John (Mary Lea) Harper of Lexington, Kentucky; daughters, Debbie (Cory) Budrow of Creston, Michelle Smith of Kirksville, Missouri, Mysty (Marv) Stumbo of Boone and Gayle Christiansen of Creston; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Judy (Donn) Courtney of Lorimor; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jimmy Gale Long and grandson Danny Sesker.
