Frank Jandrey

Creston

Frank “Pop Man” Jandrey, 86, of Creston died Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Greater Regional Health in Creston.

A celebration of life funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., in Creston. The Rev. Mary O’Riley will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, south of Creston. Open visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are for the benefit of children that are hearing impaired. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Franklin Dean Jandrey, son of Mildred (Luers) Jandrey and Raymond D. Jandrey, was born May 5, 1932, in Creston. He graduated from Creston High School in 1949.

In September 1957, Frank married Beverly Clayton in Creston. Together they had sons, Dennis and Gary, and daughter Lori Ann, who died at birth. Frank went on to work at Davis Dairy, and then White Way Dairy, where he eventually drove routes and delivery. In the late 1960s, he began working for Creston Ford Garage. In 1973, Frank began his long employment with Coca Cola Bottling, managing many aspects of sales and delivery in southwest Iowa. Frank and Beverly divorced in 1980.

On April 14, 1985, Frank married Jane Clark in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jane brought daughters, Rhonda, Pam and Tilena, and son Randy to this family. They made their home and continued to work in Creston. Frank retired from Coca Cola in 2005, and worked on other interests.

Franklin is survived by his wife Jane of Creston; sons, Dennis (Angie) Jandrey of Mount Pleasant, Gary Jandrey of Omaha, Nebraska, and Randy (Angie) Pottorff of Des Moines; daughters, Rhonda (Mike) Almquist of Essex, Pam (Archie) McCord of Grant City, Missouri, and Tilena (Jory) Dunlap of Mount Ayr; grandchildren, Jill (Brett) Lemaster of Garden, Florida, Jayme (Brian) Spanhut of Johnston, Ashlei (Chad) Venghaus of Winfield, Ashley (Troy) Gilmore of Omaha, Nebraska, Alicia (Austin) Pratt of Council Bluffs, Aaron (Jackie) Almquist of Houston, Texas, Adam Almquist, Brad, Sydney, and Wesley (Sarah) McCord, all of Grant City, Missouri, Jamie Meek of Mount Ayr, Mike Meek of Creston, Samantha Meek of Mount Ayr and Alex and Nixie Pottorff, both of Des Moines; great-grandchildren, Allison Lemaster, Daxton and Tucker Spanhut, Maycei, Marlei and McCoy Venghaus, Ava and Olivia Gilmore, Shane, Sophia and Eli Pratt, Bryant McCord, Brent Harris and Oliver Meek; brother Larry Jandrey of Des Moines; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lori Ann Jandrey, great-granddaughter Milly Jan Spanhut, sister Ardelle Slorah, niece Susan McCaw and nephew Joe Slorah.
