Rhonda Vandel

Rhonda Vandel, 64, of Creston died Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A celebration of life service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 26, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., in Creston. The Rev. Dave Tebbenkamp will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, south of Creston. Open visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Rhonda Lynn Vandel, daughter of Opal Louise (Gillum) Vandel and Turner Scott Vandel, was born April 25, 1954, in Centerville. Rhonda made her home for 50 years in Glenwood. In later years, she moved to Corning and then to Creston, where she resided the last six years of her life.

Rhonda is survived by her sister Teresa (Rick) Foote of Afton; nieces and nephews, Jamie Foote of Prescott, Brandi Foote (Jerome Snell) of Creston, Jesse Meggison of Creston, Jordan Foote of Des Moines, Shelly Allison of Des Moines, Jamie Vandel of Des Moines, Cody Vandel (Ara Seddon) of Creston and Casidy Cavanaugh (Bailey) of Cedar Falls; numerous great-nieces and -nephews and family at Imagine the Possibilities.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents and brother Philip Vandel in July 2001.
