Accident

Richard Mark Williams, 64, of Creston was cited for failure to yield half of the roadway after an accident 5:37 p.m. Thursday on Highway 34.

According to a Creston Police report, Williams was traveling west on Highway 34 in a 2012 Ford when he attempted to change lanes. He didn’t see a 2007 Dodge, driven by Micheal James Snyder, 30, of Ankeny in the other lane, and he struck the front of Snyder’s vehicle causing Snyder to lose control and go into a creek in the north ditch where he was trapped on both sides by an embankment. Snyder had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to Greater Regional Health by ground ambulance complaining of severe back and neck pain.

Estimated damages were $100 to Williams’ vehicle and $10,000 to Snyder’s vehicle.
