Kathleen Jean (Lewis) Meyer, 76, of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, March 9, 2019, in her home in rural Hummelstown, Pennsylvania.

Kathy, daughter of Albert and Marjorie (Heiser) Lewis, was born March 19, 1942, on the family farm near Fontanelle. She grew up on the farm and went to a small country school through eighth grade, then graduated from Bridgewater-Fontanelle High School in 1960. After high school, she moved to Des Moines, becoming a secretary in the financial section of the Iowa Air National Guard at the Des Moines Airport.
On May 31, 1969, she married George Meyer in Des Moines. The couple moved to Pennsylvania in May 1970, when George was transferred to the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Kathy graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College with an associate degree in communications and the arts in 1974, as well as, a Bachelor of Science degree in health arts in 1994. Kathy was employed for 21 years as a Registered Nurse at Polyclinic Medical Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and later at extended care facilities in the Harrisburg area, before retiring in 2007.
Kathy was active in the Red Hat Society.
Kathy is survived by her husband George; sons, Reed (Susan) and their son, Penn, of Weesp, The Netherlands, Kent of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, and Kirby of Chandler, Arizona; brother Larry (Peggy) Lewis of Fontanelle; sister Iris (Dale) Evans of Bridgewater and nieces, Laura, Wanda, Lori and Nicole.
