Regina Smith joins CNA editorial staff

Regina Smith has joined the Creston News Advertiser editorial staff as staff reporter, covering the Union County Board of Supervisors and Creston Water Works beats and writing features.

Smith, 46, of Creston, moved to Creston in 2006 from Newport News, Virginia.

She attended The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virigina, where she graduated from in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in education, and completed a master’s degree in reading from Grand Canyon University in 2010.

Smith also owns the Bookwyrm, which she purchased with her husband, Chris, and son Alex in 2015.

She is looking forward to writing regularly.

“That’s one of those thing you say you’re going to do, but never really do,” she said.

Smith is taking to place of former staff reporter Monica Amman, who continues to work for the CNA on a freelance basis.
