Sharon Lynn Blanchard, 61, of Fontanelle died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, at her home in Fontanelle.
Celebration of life services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, at Fontanelle United Methodist Church with burial in Fontanelle Cemetery at a later date. The Rev. Cathy Nutting will officiate the service. A luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the services. Visitation with family present will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Sharon Blanchard memorial fund to be determined later. Sharon Lynn Blanchard, daughter of Glen and Peggy (Murphy) Thompson, was born Dec. 31, 1957, in Winterset. Sharon graduated from Bridgewater-Fontanelle High School in 1976 and from beauty school in Des Moines in 1978.
In 1983, she married Marty Blanchard, and they later divorced. Sharon had lived in Minnesota, Colorado, and since 2001, in Fontanelle. She worked as a secretary for Goodyear, Sysco Food and schools in Adel and Grand Junction, Colorado.
Sharon is survived by her mother Peggy Goetz of Fontanelle; brothers, Marty Goetz of Fontanelle and Clint Goetz of Fontanelle; and other relatives and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father; stepfather Marvin Goetz; grandparents, Millard and Maxell Murphy and Bill and Joyce Thompson; sister Kathy Peitz and brother Tim Thompson.
