Florence Spring

Palm Desert, Calif.

Florence Eleanor Shepphird Spring, 89, of Palm Desert, California, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019.

Florence was a native Californian who was born in Alhambra and lived throughout the southland, spending the past 30 years in Palm Desert. She received a Bachelor’s degree and teaching credential from California State University Long Beach and a Master’s degree from Redlands University. She taught third-grade students, owned a travel business, led Jazzercise and water aerobics classes and retired to pursue her passion for golf and travel.

Florence is survived by her beloved husband, Bernie Spring, whom she “Mauied” in 1999; three daughters, Ann, Sharon and Diane; son Bruce; seven grandchildren, Jenny, Joanna, Jason, Michael, Desirée, Denise and Bryan; four great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Larry Spring and sister-in-law Clytha Black of Lenox.

A celebration of life will be held 11:30 a.m. March 16 at in the Oasis Country Club dining room in Palm Desert, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
