No citations were issued after a fatal vehicle accident 12:17 p.m. Sunday on Highway 34 west of Beechwood Avenue.
According to an Iowa State Patrol report, Emily Haidsiak, 21, of Creston was driving west on Highway 34 when she lost control on the snow and ice-covered road, crossed the center line into the eastbound lane and struck 2017 Chrysler minivan. The driver of the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Haidsiak and an infant passenger were transported to Greater Regional Health for non-life threatening injuries.
The name of the deceased victim was not available at the time of publication pending notification of family members. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
