Jennifer Ann Self, 29, 103 N. Stone St., was charged with second-degree theft 7:13 p.m. Thursday on North Pine Street.
According to a Creston Police report, a manager at Taco John’s reported that on Feb. 2, a former manager had taken a money bag that was full of money to be deposited at the end of a shift change. The manager identified Self as the former manager, who had quit her job Feb. 6. On initial contact with Self, she denied taking the money saying she put it in the drop box at the bank. After contacting the bank, the officer called Self again and asked her to come to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where she admitted to taking the money.
Self was being held on $5,000 bond.
