Michael Hanscom, 59, of Creston died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.
A celebration of life memorial services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Eagles Club, 300 E. Montgomery St., in Creston. The Rev. Tim Maxa will assist with the services. Sharing time and visitation with family present will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the club. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.
Michael Larry Hanscom, son of Gladys Maxine (Dunn) Bridges and Robert Raymond Hanscom, was born Feb. 12, 1959, in Omaha, Nebraska. Mike was educated in Omaha and Red Oak schools.
Mike married Diana Davis. They lived in Weldon, Osceola and Diagonal. They later divorced.
On Jan. 6, 2001, Mike married Patty (Warner) Croy in Creston. They lived together for 18 years in many places including Red Oak, Des Moines and Creston. Mike did numerous jobs, working at Jimmy Dean, Overland Plaza Truck Stop and doing trucking.
Mike is survived by his wife Pat Croy of Creston; sons, Jeff (Jamie) Hanscom of Fontanelle and Bob (Ashley Bird) Hanscom of Creston; grandchildren, Sarah, Chrys, Maddy, Lili, Justin, Harlea and Myka; and stepson Bill (Trish) Hoskins of Harrison, Arkansas.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry, Lloyd and Russell Hanscom; sisters, Linda and Kathy; cousin Ronnie Dunn; mother-in-law Viola Kenyon and stepdaughters, Bobbie and Dawn.
