Eugene Robert Moss Sr. was born April 14, 1939, in Oroville, California, the second youngest child of 16 born to Silvester Shannon Moss and Clarena (Conklin) Moss. He grew up in California, attending school and serving his country in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1962 to 1964. After his discharge, he was visiting his brother Wayne in Omaha, Nebraska, and he met LaVon Allen who would become his wife on Oct. 14, 1963. Four children were born to bless their lives, Wanda, Billy Ray, Roger and Hank.

In 1974, the family moved to Lenox, where they raised their children. Eugene worked at the Totes Plant, later doing road construction for Central Paving Construction Company. When he left road construction, he started his own carpentry business. During this time, he taught his sons and grandsons carpentry skills and the love of woodworking.

Eugene also enjoyed fishing and casinos. However, spending time with his family brought him the most joy, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish Eugene’s memory are two children, Wanda Browning and husband Jerry of Prescott and Roger Moss and wife ChaeYon of Therman; two sisters, Ilene and Alma; one brother Mervin; one sister-in-law Patsy and husband Bob Hasberger; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; along with many other family members, friends and neighbors.

Preceding Eugene in death were his parents, Silvester and Clarena Moss; most of his siblings; his loving wife LaVon who passed away in October 2011; and two sons, Billy Ray at infancy and Hank, who died in February 2018.

Eugene will be missed by his entire family. The memories we shared throughout the years will remain in our hearts forever.
