Jayne Livingston

Vanessa “Jayne” Livingston, 63, of Orient died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at her home near Orient.

Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., in Creston. Memorial service celebration of life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Des Moines First, 2725 Merle Hay Road, in Des Moines with the Rev. Cullen Allen and the Rev. Steve Beaman officiating. Vanessa “Jayne” Livingston, daughter of Richard Dale and Bonnie Jayne (Petherick) Green, was born March 20, 1955, in Creston, and attended Orient-Macksburg Schools.

On July 28, 1972, Jayne married Mike Livingston at the Hill of Zion Church. They lived in the Orient area most of their married life. She was most recently employed as a paraeducator at Creston Elementary School.

Jayne worshipped at Des Moines First for the past 20 years, and served as a children’s Sunday school teacher.

Jayne is survived by her husband Mike Livingston; sons, Jason (Michelle) Livingston of Hartford, Jeremy (Tracy) Livingston of Shawnee, Kansas, and James (Melody) Livingston of Greenfield; grandchildren, Kaleb Livingston (fiancée Anna) of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Kelsey Livingston of Orient, Alli, Grant and Reid Livingston of Shawnee, Kansas, and Garrett and Taron Livingston of Winterset; great-grandson Nolan Cochran of Orient; brother Rod (Barb) Green of Orient; sister Marcia (Jeff) Kralik of Creston and many other close relatives.

Jayne was preceded in death by her parents.
