Shirley Harry, 89, of Orient died Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, at EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Orient United Methodist Church with burial in Orient Cemetery. The Rev. Cathy Nutting will officiate. A luncheon will be held at the church following the committal services at the cemetery. Open visitation was from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Steen Funeral Home, 101 SE Fourth St., in Greenfield with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Cancer Research. Shirley Maxine Harry, daughter of Claude and Georgia (Bennett) Antisdel, was born Feb. 3, 1929, in Adams County. Shirley graduated from high school at Richland in 1946, and then attended teacher’s college prior to teaching at Williamson country school.
In August 1949, Shirley married Bill Harry.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Chris (Jim) Corkrean and Deb Harry, all of Orient; sons, Dan (Peggy) Harry of Chinook, Montana, and Scott (Lynne) Harry of Orient; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister Betty Craig of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law Arden Kramer of Orient; other relatives and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill in 2014 and son Rick in 1995.
