Creston girls JV, freshmen grab wins

Girls JV blows out Red Oak

A 65-35 win over Red Oak Saturday was propelled by Panther freshman Brianna Fields’ 28-point performance.

Heylee Shields and Rylie Driskell put up 10 and eight points, respectively, while Kara Kinsella and Halle Evans added six points each.

Creston got to the free throw line 30 times, converting 18 times from the charity stripe.

Panther freshmen fall to Red Oak

The Creston freshmen girls basketball team dropped their contest to Red Oak 13-11 Saturday in two quarters of play.

Falling behind 11-0 after the first quarter, the Panthers powered back with an 11-2 quarter, falling short of the comeback win.

Halle Evans posted a team-high five points in the loss while Gracie Hagle scored three points, Bri Fields scored two and Ashley Reynard hit a free throw.

Creston freshmen best Southwest Valley

Creston girls freshmen team topped Southwest Valley 32-28 Monday behind 10 points from Bri Fields and seven off the hand of Morgan Driskell.

Halle Evans had another nice night with six points while Heylee Shields posted five.

Gracie Hagle and Ashley Reynard each posted two points in the win.
