Catholic Daughters

Catholic Daughters Court Joan of Arc, No. 428 met Dec. 11. Mass was held at 6 p.m. with Father Ken Halbur.

The December committee served ham with scalloped potatoes, green beans and assorted desserts. The committee was made up of Retta Rippperger, Iris Smith, Pat Pokorny and Ann Moore.

Members shared their favorite Christmas ornament and the stories that went with each ornament.

The meeting was called to order by Regent Teresa Weis at 7:45 p.m. with recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance by all members present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved with minor changes. The treasurer reported state and national dues were paid. Rippperger had a bill for boxes to package bake sale items, and it was approved as presented.

Communication Betty Baker asked members to let her know of any members who will be in need of a card. Cards were sent to Linda Lynch.

Right to Life committee reports upcoming memorial meeting and to watch the bulletin for details.

ReRun volunteer dinner will be held Dec 13. Additional volunteers will be needed in January and February.

Old business includes soup supper had to be canceled due to weather with no plans to reschedule.

New business includes fall event was breakfast at Bunn-O-Matic. Monies were divided between the treasury and Christmas Family Basket. Christmas Family Basket was completed and will be delivered. Plans were made for the Christmas gift to Father Halbur. Donation cup monies were split equally between national projects and local projects.

Membership prayer was recited to end the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 9 p.m. Motion was made by and approved by all.

Project for January is a quilt for donation to the St. Malachy Foundation. The next meeting will be Jan. 8 at the Holy Spirit Parish Hall. New members are always welcome.

Ladies Lakeshore Auxiliary

Ladies Lakeshore Auxiliary met Jan 2.

Canasta winners were Joan Chubick, first; Barb Bills, second; and Janice Musterman, third.

Joy Seeley won the door prize.

Wanda Nash will host cards and chatter Wednesday, Jan 9.
