Waymond Lee Foster Sr., 31, of Afton, was charged with domestic assault 9:50 a.m. Thursday at his residence.
According to a Union County Sheriff report, Foster assaulted the victim by placing his hands on her neck causing bruising.
Foster was released on his own recognizance.
