Jack Marvin Schaff, 74, of Murray died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola with the Rev. Marty Burgus officiating. Interment will be in Murray Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to his family for a fitting tribute to be decided later. Jack Marvin Schaff, son of Kenneth Marvin Schaff and Freda Marie (Hess) Schaff, was born Dec. 29, 1943, in Clarke County. Jack was a lifetime resident of the Murray area. He entered the U.S. Army following high school, and following an honorable discharge he returned to Murray.

On May 6, 1971, Jack married Karen Kay Towns. Jack worked for Clarke County operating a maintainer for many years.

Jack is survived by his wife Karen Schaff of Murray; children, Jack (Ronoka) Schaff of Osceola, Shana Schaff of Urbandale, Shane (Mel) Miller of Lincoln, Nebraska, Troy (Melinda) Miller of West Point, Mississippi, and Ed Miller of West Point, Mississippi; brothers, Jerry (Sandy) Schaff of Hamilton, Illinois, and Larry (Peggy) Schaff of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and many friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Freda; brother John Schaff and sister-in-law Sylvia Schaff.
