Steven Mathew Behlers, 29, of Afton, was charged on a Union County warrant for second-degree burglary, and Cherrie Lee Palmer, 30, also of Afton, was charged on a Union County warrant for five counts of forgery-unlawful use of credit cards 5 p.m. Tuesday.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, after numerous calls from Afton residents reporting their vehicles had been broken into and items stolen, the Sheriff’s office, Afton police and Creston police were able to secure a search warrant for the Afton Park Apartments. Belhers was identified as a man one victim had seen in his garage. Palmer used a stolen credit card five times to purchase items at the Casey’s in Afton totalling $182.58.

Behlers and Palmer were each being held on $10,000 bond.

Melissa Marie Shinn, 24, 304 N. Jarvis St., was charged with driving while barred 9 a.m. Tuesday on East Townline Road.

Shinn was released on $2,000 bond.
