Sara Hadley, 47, of Afton died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 800 N. Sumner Ave., in Creston. The Rev. John Rutz will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, east of Afton. Open visitation with family present will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., in Creston. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to her family. Sara Frances (Burress) Hadley, daughter of James R. “Bob” Burress and Shirley S. (Proctor) Burress, was born Dec. 4, 1971, in Trenton, Missouri. She graduated from Putnam County High School in Unionville, Missouri. She earned her LPN, then continued on at Southwestern Community College in Creston to earn her RN. Sara graduated with her BSN from University of Missouri Kansas City.

On March 23, 1996, Sara married Dean Allan Hadley in Princeton, Missouri. They first lived in Lenox, and then moved near Tingley and later Shannon City. They made their final move, which took them to their current home southwest of Afton. Sara worked as the clinic manager for Ringgold County Hospital, and most recently, held the same position at CHI Health Mercy Hospital in Corning.

Sara was active at Trinity Lutheran Church in Creston. She was in charge of the youth group, taught Sunday school and served in other various church areas.

Sara is survived by her husband Dean; daughters, Allison, Lauren and Elizabeth, all of Afton; and brother Darrin (Jennifer) Burress of Garner.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents.
