Community invited to CCHS Veterans Day program

All Union County veterans and the public are invited to a Veterans Day program 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in the gymnasium at Creston Community High School. The featured speaker will be local attorney and army veteran, Eric Green, a 1993 CCHS graduate.

The program will also include a parade of veterans, presentation of patriotic quilts, recognition of high school seniors enlisted in the military and patriotic performances by the concert choir and junior and senior Peppers.

This is the first year that student government at the high school has assumed responsibility for planning this event. Two seniors, Sadie Green and Tanner Amos, have taken on the entire planning and preparation and have relied on their teachers only for guidance at times during the process. These two young people have a passion for the event and a heart for serving their community.

Valet parking will be provided by FFA members starting at 8:15 a.m. Floor seating will be available for veterans and their families. Veterans interested in participating in the parade of veterans, should check in at the front table upon arrival.

For those unable to attend, CCHS CAST will be live-streaming the program on www.ksibradio.com (high school TV link).
