LINDSBORG, Kan. — The Briar Cliff men’s basketball team moved to 3-0 on the season when it beat Bethany College 92-80 Saturday afternoon in its second road contest of the weekend.
Senior Jay Wolfe of Creston matched his career high with 34 points in the game, including seven 3-point baskets. He also grabbed 13 rebounds. Junior Jackson Lamb of Greenfield added 17 points and senior point guard Erich Erdman chipped in 13 to go with four assists.
On Friday night Briar Cliff prevailed 116-112 over Friends University in overtime in Wichita, Kansas. Erdman and Lamb each scored 30 points, with Lamb finishing 7 of 15 from 3-point range. Lamb also had a team-high 11 rebounds and seven assists. Wolfe contributed 20 points, 10 assists and six rebounds.
Wolfe played 50 minutes in the double-overtime game and Lamb played 48.
Briar Cliff will be on the road again Wednesday as the Chargers travel to Jamestown, North Dakota for the first GPAC game of the season at 8 p.m.
