Doris Briles, 87, of Creston died Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at Crest Haven Care Centre in Creston.
Celebration of life memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., in Creston. The Rev. Tony Thurston will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Open memorial visitation with family present will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are to the family. Doris Jean Briles, daughter of Inez (Clinton) White and Earl White, was born March 8, 1931, in Creston. She grew up in Creston and graduated from Creston High School in 1949.
On Aug. 26, 1950, Doris married Harvey Louis Briles in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a housewife early in their marriage. She also worked at the credit union and sold Avon for about five years. They later divorced. Doris went to work at Wellman Dynamics, where she worked until retirement in 1996.
She married George Toledo and continued living in Creston. They later divorced.
Doris was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Creston, Mary Circle and former member of Creston Eagles Lodge.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Sandy Manrose of Papillion, Nebraska, Cathy (Jerry) Balius of Creston and Debbie (Kevin) Glick of Creston; son Jeff (Brenda) Briles of Perry; brother Ronnie White of Santa Rosa, California; sisters, Marge Chrisinger of Grimes and Joyce Fah of Harlan; grandchildren, Ryan (Julie) Manrose of Omaha, Nebraska, Jason (Wendy) Hayes of Creston, Nicki Hayes (Jesse Stauffer) of Creston, Chad Means (Zach Job) of New York, New York, Cody Means of Raleigh, North Carolina, Davin (Kiarha) Briles of Adel, Larissa Briles (Brad Renshaw) of Perry and Beau Briles of Perry; and great-grandchildren, Haley and Jordan Manrose, Briley, Brennan and Blake Hayes, Dylan Meggison (Tiffany Scott), Bryce and Connor Larkin and Aiden Briles.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Shawn Manrose, sister Carol Hauser, brother Junior White and son-in-law Jack Manrose.
