Pvt. Joshua James Harris, 18, of Creston graduated Oct. 19 from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego in San Diego, California. Harris successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD San Diego as one of 90 recruits in Alpha Company Training Platoon 1015.
Following 10 days home on leave, he will report to Camp Pendleton for one month of military combat training, then military occupation specialty school in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Harris is the son of Angie Williamson and Scott and Kristina Harris.
