Barbara Savage, 86, of Creston died Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at her home in Creston.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Pearson Family Funeral Service and Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery St., in Creston. The Rev. Kenneth Halbur Jr. will officiate. Visitation with family present will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. A private interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Barbara Savage, daughter of Peter and Mable Kastrenos, was born July 16, 1932, in Gloucester, Massachusetts. As a young girl, her family moved from Massachusetts to Lincoln, California. Barbara was raised there and attended school in Lincoln, California, where she graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1950.

On Dec. 16, 1956, Barbara married Herb Savage in Sacramento, California. Barb was a full-time, stay-at-home mother. Barb and Herb spent more than 50 years together, all in California. Herb died Dec. 29, 2007. In May 2008, Barb moved to Creston to live with her daughter and family.

Barb is survived by her children, Scott (Judy) Savage of Orangevale, California, and Susan (Todd) Dunphy of Creston; grandchildren, Colton and Amy Dunphy; great-granddaughter Holly Dunphy; sisters, Bessie Chiostri of Carmichael, California, and Mary Weir of Lincoln, California; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; husband Herb; brothers-in-law, Ray Chiostri and Marshal Weir and great-uncles, Peter and Charlie Mehalakis.
