Anna Warner, 90, of Creston died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at Creston Specialty Care.

A celebration of life service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., in Creston. The Rev. Mary O'Riley will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Afton. Open visitation with family present will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. service time Saturday at the funeral home. Anna Louise Warner, daughter of Walter “Jake” Hillebran and Vera Marie (Brown) Hillebran, was born Feb. 26, 1928, in Shannon City. She graduated from Afton High School in 1946.

On Nov. 30, 1947, Anna married Frederick Kalar. They lived and worked in Afton. They moved to Creston in 1953, where she worked at Fareway as a cashier. In 1972, they moved to Burlington and Anna began working at Montgomery Wards. Fred died in 1976, and Anna returned to Creston and worked at K-Mart.

On Dec. 16, 1978, Anna married Roy V. Warner. They settled in Mount Ayr. Anna retired as a customer service representative with K-Mart in 1990. Roy died in 2006. Anna later moved to Creston to be near family.

Anna is survived by her daughters, Linda Freeman and Cheryl (Rusty Davis), both of Creston; son Gary (Tara) Kalar of Burlington; sister Mary Zaites of Brevard, North Carolina; grandchildren, Deborah (Mike) Van Pelt of Pendleton, Oregon, Terry (Shelby) Freeman of Creston, Tracy (Steve) Huff of Yankton, South Dakota, Tricia Donner of Urbandale, Becky (Phil) Cox of New London and Megan (Jamie) Horn of Burlington; great-grandchildren, Amanda (Jordon Ball) Tyer, Jordan (fiancée Emily Staigle) Tyer, Ethan and Abby Freeman, Nathan and Abigail Huff, Kirstin Kautz, Cameron (Kayelea) Kautz, Dylon and Lucas Sibley, Samantha (Michael) Biddenstadt, Alexandra Cox and Gabby (Zach) Harris and great-great-grandchildren, Bhodi Ball, Hope Tyer, Eliza Marie Cox, Ayden Christofferson, Raelee Christofferson and Keegan Biddenstadt.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Fred Kalar and Roy Warner and brother Bill Hillebran.
