Jamie Torres, 34, 794 Hickory St., was charged on a Union County warrant for second-degree theft 7 a.m. Tuesday at the Law Enforcement Center.
According to a Creston Police report, Torres used a stolen credit card to pay for gas for customers at the Casey’s at the intersection of South Elm and West Union streets and then charge the customers half price for the gas and pocket the money. The activity resulted in a theft of $5,848.55.
Torres was being held on $5,000 bond.

Terry Mullin, 203 S. Lincoln St., had a third party report 2:06 p.m. Tuesday that sometime during Monday night someone entered his vehicle while it was parked at his residence and took an electronic larynx and a Samsung cell phone.
