Adair County Sheriff

Koy Alan Brandt, 18, of Greenfield, was charged with disorderly conduct, underage possession of alcohol, possession of a controled substance and manufacturing and selling imitation drugs 3:18 a.m. Sept. 12 in Greenfield.

According to a Greenfield Police report, officers were called to an apartment complex in Greenfield where Brandt was disturbing tenants by making loud noises, screaming and punching a table in an outdoor public area of the complex. During the investigation, the officers found Brandt in possession of a drinking flask containing Jack Daniels whiskey, marijuana and a prescription bottle with white powder inside, which turned out to be baking powder, which Brandt told police he was selling as a drug.

Brandt was being held on $2,000 bond.

Joshua Lee Jones, 27, of Creston, was charged with assault with injury 1:22 a.m. Friday in Greenfield.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, Jones punched the victim several times in the face causing intentional pain and injury.

Jones was also charged in a separate incident with violation of a no contact order 12:21 p.m. Friday in Greenfield.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, Jones was in direct contact with a person named as the defendant in a no contact order.

Jones was being held on $1,500 bond for both charges.

DeJuan Dontell Smith, 41, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was charged on an Adair County warrant for possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) 12:10 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 80.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, Smith was pulled over for driving 84 mph in a 70 mph zone. The trooper smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and found marijuana during a subsequent search of the vehicle.

Smith refused to be fingerprinted so was held until seen by a judge. Upon being fingerprinted he was released.
