Creston/O-M freshmen football tied with Carlisle 6-6 after four quarters and an overtime period Friday.
Avery Fuller completed three passes over the contest, including a 19-yard pitch and catch to Erick Rodriguez for the Panthers’ lone score. Rodriguez was on the receiving end of all three Fuller completions.
Fuller also intercepted a pass on defense to go along with a tackle.
Kane Bowers led the defense with eight tackles while Gage Skarda and Briley Hayes each had seven tackles. Hayes had 18 carries for 57 yards on the offensive end.
Skarda got dirty as well, managing two fumble recoveries in the game. Wilfredo Felix put together a quarterback sack along with six tackles on defense.
Derek Paup and Chris Wilson had three tackles apiece as well.
“Today was a defensive battle for our freshman team. It would have been great to get a victory, but it was also a great learning experience for the kids to play an overtime game and get to see how that works,” said Panther freshman coach Kevin Cooper. “Our defense played really good today. Our offense struggled, and had a lot of opportunities but just couldn’t capitalize. We will continue to work and hopefully improve in that area.”
