The weekly Kiwanis meeting was held 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4 at the Windrow meeting room with 19 members and one guest. President Korina Loudon presided, Dave Abiltrup gave the prayer and Roger Lanning was the finemaster.
The club got updates on the pork chop fundraiser from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at McKinley Park. Tickets are now available from members, and a sign up sheet was passed around for members to work the fundraiser.
The Kiwanis Kids Coat giveaway will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at First United Methodist Church, 400 N. Elm St., this year. Jamie Travis is working on the details and will have a sign up sheet for members soon.
The program was given by Brenton Barber, Eagle Scout candidate with Creston Boy Scout Pack 129. He discussed his Eagle Scout project building a book/food pantry for the community at the First United Methodist Church in Creston. The church has been the sponsor for Pack 129 for several decades.

Ladies Lakeshore Auxiliary met Sept. 5.
Canasta winners were Wanda Nash, first; Janet Kessler, second; and Cheri Lilly, third.
Connie Bailey won the door prize.
Bailey will host cards and chatter Wednesday, Sept. 12.
