No citations were issued following an accident 6 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Highway 2 and B Street in New Market.
According to an Iowa State Patrol report, Konner Ray Martin, 19, of New Market, was driving a 2005 Pontiac eastbound on Highway 2 when he crossed the center line in front of a 2014 Toyota driven by westbound by Jean Ann Minor, 61, of Clarinda.
Martin’s vehicle spun around and came to rest upright in the north ditch, while Minor’s vehicle continued and entered the north ditch upright.
Martin and Minor were both transported to Clarinda Hospital by Clarinda EMS. Sophia Alezandra Groumoutis, 18, of Creston, a passenger in one of the vehicles who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was transported by Life Net air ambulance to University of Nebraska Medical Center Omaha.
Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Page County Sheriff’s Office, Clarinda EMS, New Market EMS and Life Net.
