Kiwanis

The weekly Kiwanis meeting was held 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Windrow meeting room with 19 members and one guest. President Korina Loudon presided, Roger Lanning gave the prayer and Drew Henderson was the finemaster.

New member Randy Ringsdorf was introduced to the club.

The club received updates on the pork chop fundraiser which will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept 13. at McKinley Park. Club members have until Aug. 14 to order their Kiwanis shirts to wear that day.

The Christmas wreath and swag fundraiser will happen again in October with more updates to come.

The program was given by Mindy Stalker with Union County Development Association. She discussed the nine interns in Creston businesses this summer that worked in the area, and ways the UCDA helped them develop and learn about the community.

Ladies Lakeshore Auxiliary

Ladies Lakeshore Auxiliary met Aug. 8.

Canasta winners were Sharon Gile, first; Joan Chubick, second; and Joy Seeley, third.

Gwen Sandeman won the door prize.

Marilyn Larimore will host cards and chatter Wednesday, Aug. 15.
