The Hagle sisters led the way in the recently released Hawkeye 10 all-conference softball teams that were chosen by the coaches.

The younger Hagle, eighth-grader Gracie, took first team honors for her standout hitting and abilities demonstrated at shortstop in her first varsity season.

Hagle was the team’s leader with a .402 batting average, 13 stolen bases and .552 slugging percentage. She whacked eight doubles, a triple, a home run and drove in 15 runs.

Second-teamers

Elder sister Chloe Hagle made second team, marking her second straight season taking all-H10 honors. While her leadership behind the plate was mostly behind the scenes, her bat was anything but silent. Chloe smashed 11 doubles and two triples to lead the Panthers in extra base hits, batted .353 and drove in a team-leading 29 runs.

Earning second team honors was Kylee LaMasters, the team’s main hurler in the circle. She won eight games and sported a 4.46 ERA. She improved her strikeout-to-walk ratio from a year ago, striking out 95 and walking 41.

At the plate, LaMasters reached base more than anyone on the squad with a .455 on base percentage. She had seven doubles, a homer and drove in 23 runs. She showed a patient eye with 13 walks.

Honorable mention

Saige Rice took all-conference honors for the second straight year, earning an honorable mention selection. She held down center field as she hit .366 with seven doubles, one triple, a homer and drove in 17 runs. She got on base at a .443 rate.

Cayla Maitlen’s senior season was her best yet as she demonstrated an improved bat and glove, which helped her to nab an honorable mention spot. She led the team with 60 assists, batted at a hot .378 clip (second best on the Panthers) and drove in 22 runs. Maitlen also blasted 34 hits.
