Vincent Ray Bentley, 33, of Lorimor, was charged on a Madison County warrant for violation of probation and was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia 6:24 p.m. Tuesday on Abell Street.
According to a Creston Police report, Bentley was identified by officers as someone with a warrant for his arrest and upon processing him for the warrant found a marijuana pipe with residue and a syringe that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Bentley was being held without bond until he could be seen by a judge on the the warrant and $1,300 bond on the possession charges.

Matthew E Thomas, 27, 212 N. Oak St. was charged with third-degree harassment 2:55 a.m. today at his residence.
According to a Creston Police report, the victim said he had been threatened by Thomas whom he said made comments about "taking care of it old school" while walking toward him two different times with different objects in his hands, one identified as possibly being a sledgehammer and the other being a machete. Thomas said he did tell the victim to "shut up" and that he was in possession of a machete when he confronted him.
Thomas was released on $300 bond.

Rosella Putnum, 801 Quiet Harbor, reported 9:38 a.m. Tuesday that between June 28 and July 3 she was the victim of fraud by way of a phone scam.
Estimated loss was $15,000.
