Shelly Wheatley

Shelly Dawn Wheatley, 37, of Greenfield died Friday, June 29, 2018, at her home.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 6, at United Methodist Church in Greenfield with burial in Greenfield Cemetery. A luncheon followed at the church. The Rev. Eric Schubert officiated the service. Open visitation was from 2 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at Steen Funeral Home, 101 SE Fourth St., in Greenfield with family present from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorials are to the Shelly Wheatley memorial fund at Union State Bank in Greenfield. Shelly, daughter of Dennis and Linda (Carl) Wheatley, was born March 23, 1981, in Greenfield.

Shelly, with her partner Tim Wilson Jr., had children, Christina Marie Wilson and Ryan Allan. While pregnant with their third child, Tim died in 2005, and Mason Evan was born after his death. Shelly was a single stay-at-home mother after Mason was born.

After the kids were all in school, Shelly worked at Casey's in Greenfield for a while.

Shelly is survived by her children, Christina, Ryan and Mason Wilson of Greenfield; parents, Linda and Eric Stewart of Greenfield and Dennis Wheatley of Adair; maternal grandparents, Bruce and Kate Carl of Greenfield; father-in-law Tim Wilson Sr. of Greenfield; mother-in-law Sonyia (Paul) Stuart of Des Moines.; sisters, Chas Lundy of Greenfield and Wendy Wheatley Gordon of Sterling, Colorado; sister-in-law Amy (Derek) Perkey of Greenfield; brothers-in-law, Dan Lundy of Texas and Jumar Gordon of Colorado; nieces and nephews, Paige, Jenna and Jacob Gordon of Colorado, Wes and Dustin Lundy of Texas, Jordan Christensen and Kennedy and Emma Perkey of Greenfield; and many friends and relatives.

Shelly was preceded in death by her partner Tim Wilson Jr.; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Opal Wheatley; and uncles, Ed Carl and Mark Lundberg.
