Kiwanis

The weekly Kiwanis meeting was held 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at the Windrow meeting room with 21 members and three guests. President Korina Loudon presided, Ed Ritter gave the prayer and Craig Mittag was the finemaster.

The members were thanked for helping with the Fourth of July activities, putting up and taking down flags and helping organize the parade.

The program was given by Sarah Adamson, social worker, and Debra Rodgers, team director with Hospice of Central Iowa. They talked about their care programs for the hospice house and patients with home care. The medical and social teams work with each individual on their own individual plan with the goal of keeping as much quality of life as possible during the patient’s terminal illness. There are many ways for the public to volunteer with hospice patients, and there is a volunteer services coordinator who works with training the volunteers need.
