Thanks for making the ice cream social a great success

From Darlene Loudon

Southside Booster Club

Creston

We would like to thank everyone who attended our ice cream social this past Saturday and showed their support for Rainbow Park. It is very much appreciated. It was a perfect day for the ice cream and the wonderful country music. There was a heat advisory out, but the weather was so nice and not sweltering hot. The wonderful breeze all afternoon kept everyone comfortable. There was plenty of shade. The crowd was awesome.

It was so wonderful to see families with their children visiting, and just to see everyone in a conversation. People told me they really enjoyed the day because they met up with people they hadn’t seen in years. The Model A Club from Des Moines stopped by for ice cream on their way back to Des Moines. The Model A’s were awesome.

The musicians that performed over there really put on a wonderful show. Rick Titus, Max Smith, Bob Kramer, Ricky Cross and Bob Cottrell. Bob Cottrell wrote and sang a song and it was great. Vance Monday and his lovely wife were there performing. Vance’s wife sang a tribute to Patsy Cline’s songs. What a beautiful voice she has. Joe Williamson sang a great song.

Old Tyme Power Club ran out of ice cream. They displayed some nice tractors.

The Southside Booster Club and Old Tyme Power Club were very happy with the crowd and the way it turned out. We hope to have this event again next year. Again, thank you all.

I have one last thing. I’m looking for three or four ladies to join up with the kitchen band. So if you love people and like to put a smile on a face, then you’ll enjoy the band.
