CEDAR FALLS – New alumni were added to the roster of graduates of the University of Northern Iowa. The following were among the graduates.

• Jana Johnson of Creston received a Master of Accounting with a major in accounting

• Ashtyn Riley of Creston received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in elementary education

• Paige Van Dyk of Ellston received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in communication disorders

• Danielle Dickinson of Greenfield received a Master of Arts with a major in teaching English secondary schools

Ellsworth Community College

IOWA FALLS – One hundred and fourteen students were named to the spring 2018 dean’s list at Ellsworth Community College. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must have taken 12 or more credit hours during the semester and have earned at least a 3.5 GPA while attending classes at ECC or ECC online.

Southwestern Community College

Southwestern Community College auto collision repair/refinish student, James Bourn of Red Oak, recently received a $2,000 scholarship for fall 2018 semester from the Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education.

Bourn will receive his diploma in auto collision repair/refinish following the summer 2018 session at SWCC. He plans to return for the second year of the program in 2018-19 to earn his Associate of Applied Science degree in auto collision repair/refinish.

University of Iowa

IOWA CITY – Zachary Johnson of Gravity was named to the University of Iowa (UI) president’s list for the spring 2018 semester.

The president’s list was established in the fall of 1983 to recognize academic excellence. In order to be included on the list, a student must have a minimum 4.0 GPA in all academic subjects for the preceding two semesters, with a total of at least 12 semester hours of credit per semester during that period.

Approximately 600 students were named to the president’s list for the spring 2018 semester.

IOWA CITY – Students named to the UI spring 2018 dean’s list. Students who achieve a GPA of 3.50 or higher on 12 semester hours or more of UI graded coursework during a given semester are recognized by inclusion on the dean’s list for that semester.

Students from the local area include Chance Lacina of Afton, Jacob Sobotka of Clearfield, Aunica Harvey of Corning, Mikayla Moore of Corning, Brittany Bunker of Creston, Zachary Johnson of Gravity, Danica Clayton of Greenfield, Corrine Jones of Greenfield, Regan Tullberg of Lenox and Kirsten Dolecheck of Mount Ayr.
