Gary and June Loudon

Creston

Memorial services for Gary and June Loudon, former longtime residents of Creston, will be 10:45 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at St. John’s Church, 601 S. Maple St., in Creston. In lieu of flowers, donate to the church, a veteran or go out to eat.

Gary Loudon was born Dec. 12, 1932, and died Feb. 22, 2018. He served in the army, was foreman for Creston Water Works, maintenance manager at Green Valley State Park and ran a large trap line.

June (Fitzgarrald) Loudon was born Jan. 11, 1932, and died Oct. 24, 2013. She was an insurance agent and real estate broker. She served on the city council and occasionally taught classes at Southwestern Community College.

They were both born and raised on the south-side of Creston and spent most of their life in Creston. They were married Aug. 8, 1953, and celebrated more than 60 years of marriage. While he was stationed in Germany, they traveled around Europe. Along with their sons, Steve and Robert, they traveled border-to-border and coast-to-coast in America. After retiring, they continued their journeys.

Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing. June liked reading and playing cards or scrabble. They enjoyed traveling, motorcycling, buckskinning, geocaching and many other hobbies, as well as spending time with family and friends.
