Creston junior Bree Ross and senior Kalan Bloodgood were honored as Iowa Girls Coaches Association all-state soccer performers as announced Tuesday.
Both were recognized on the second team. Twelve players in Creston’s Class 1A were given distinction on the first team.
Ross and Bloodgood made second team alongside 29 other players.
Bloodgood was a speedy defensive specialist tasked with harassing Hawkeye 10 forwards and wingers. She did well enough to earn the recognition of coaches not only in the conference, but across southwestern and south central Iowa. She also scored on two goals and assisted on another.
Ross was a center and midfield hybrid who could push the pace forward while facilitating offensive touches for her teammates. She led the Panthers with seven goals and assisted on two more.
