Spencer Jordan Leitzel, 28, 106 S. Stone St., was charged with domestic abuse assault by strangulation 4:48 p.m. Tuesday at his residence.
According to a Creston Police report, Leitzel was in a physical altercation with the victim in which he put his hands around her neck and attempted to strangle her.
Leitzel was being held awaiting bond hearing.
