Joseph James Scarpello, 40, of Creston, was cited for failure to provide financial liability following an accident 4:41 p.m. Tuesday on West Townline Street.
According to a Creston Police report, Kathleen Renee Cassill, 44, of Arispe, driving a 2007 Toyota, was stopped in the westbound lane of West Townline Street waiting for oncoming traffic to clear so she could turn into a driveway on the south side of the road when Scarpello, who was driving a 1999 GMC also going west, failed to stop in time to avoid rear-ending her vehicle.
Estimated damages were $5,000 to Cassill’s vehicle and $3,000 to Scarpello’s vehicle.
