Richard Lewis Beam, 52, of Lorimor, was charged with failure to comply with pretrial release 2:01 p.m. Friday at the Law Enforcement Center.

Beam was released on a promise to appear.

Dalton James Cormeny, 26, 622 N. Poplar St., was charged with driving while barred, possession of a controlled substance, second-offense possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia 5 p.m. Friday on the corner of North Maple and West Montgomery streets.

According to a Creston Police report, officers spotted Cormeny on North Maple Street and instantly recognized him as someone who was barred from driving. After pulling Cormeny over, he was searched and found to be in possession of a bag containing methamphetamine, a bag containing marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Cormeny was release on $5,300 bond.

Seth Michael Thompson, 29, of Cameron, Missouri, was charged with public intoxication 11 p.m. Friday on East Adams Street.

According to a Creston Police report, Thompson was seen acting suspiciously outside the restored Creston Depot. When officers spoke with him, it appeared that he was impaired by either narcotics or alcohol. A breath test showed Thompson’s blood-alcohol content as .000. While speaking with officers, Thompson said he did not know what town he was in or why he was here.

Thompson was released on $300 bond.

David Dwayne Estell, 36, 1202 N. Maple St., was charged with simple assault 12 a.m. Sunday on the 100 block of South Sumner Avenue.

According to a Creston Police report, officers responded to an assault in which the victim said Estell smacked his hand knocking a cigar to the ground. Estell said he did smack the victim’s hand.

Estell was cited and released on promise to appear.

Christopher Lynn Woollums, 30, of West Des Moines, was charged on a Union County warrant for two counts of controlled substance violation and an additional charge of third-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine.

According to a Creston Police report, Woollums was the passenger of a vehicle officers pulled over that did not have license plates. While officers were waiting for confirmation of a warrant on Woollums, they searched him and found a bag with a white crystalline substance which Woollums said was a dietary supplement. The substance tested positive in two field tests as methamphetamine.

Wollums was being held without bond.

Ashley Kibbe, 803 N. Sycamore St., reported someone had keyed her car between the hours of 12 and 6 a.m. Friday.

Estimated damage was $300.

Christine Larkin, 504 W. Mills St., reported between the hours of 12 and 6 a.m. Friday someone slashed the tires on a vehicle parked at her residence.

Estimated damage was $150.
