Dorothy Frances (Spriggs) Kralik, 101, of Glenwood Place in Marshalltown, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 16, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home, 1209 Iowa Ave. West, in Marshalltown with Pastor Craig Luttrell officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Memorial Garden in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice or First United Methodist Church. Dorothy was born on Nov. 9, 1916, in Victor, the daughter of John and Bertha (Carter) Spriggs. She received her education in Creston and graduated with the class of 1935.
She was married to Stanley John Kralik on July 7, 1937, in Des Moines. She worked at Spurgens for more than 30 years.
She was an active member of Wesleyan Church, and in 1937, she became an active member of First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. She was also a member of Marshall Rebekah’s Lodge, Grand Lodge, Ladies Empowerment, Business Women Professions, Senior Center, Craft Group at the Y and a Girl Scout leader.
Left to cherish her memory are her nephews, Rich (Darina) Davenport, Doug (Christi) Spriggs and Dave (Maxine) Davenport and nine great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley; daughter Karen; a son in infancy; siblings, Raymond Spriggs (wife Elinor), Mary Spriggs (husband Paul Davenport) and one sister in infancy; and her parents, John and Bertha.
