Ecumenical Lenten services continue Sunday

Area churches in Union and Taylor counties are joining together in each county again to host ecumenical Lenten services. The services will be held at a different host church each week, and each week the pastors from the churches participate in the service with a different pastor preaching the message.

The Union County worship services begin at 5 p.m. each Sunday with a light meal following. The service this Sunday will be “Receive the Blessings of the Cross,” at First Presbyterian Church, 702 W. Prairie St., in Creston with the Rev. Mary O’Riley as guest speaker. All people are welcome to attend. Offerings will be split between MATURA Friendship Fund, Creston Area Food Pantry Inc. for personal care products and United Charitable Association.

Lenox Ministerial Association will hold their ecumenical Lenten services at 7 p.m. Sunday evenings. The service this week will be at Stringtown Church, junction of Highway 34 and Sycamore Avenue, north of Lenox with the Rev. Moises Zaragoza giving the message. A cross walk with Father Peters will be held Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 600 W. Michigan St., in Lenox.
