Clearview Home fire under investigation

CLEARFIELD – A fire at Clearview Home in Clearfield remains under investigation this morning.

Firefighters were dispatched at 6:14 a.m. for a fire at the care facility. According to Clearfield Assistant Fire Chief Cliff Briggs, the fire was contained to a single room in the middle of the western side of the facility.

“The residents all made it out safe and secure,” Briggs said. “They got them all moved over and secured them into [Armstrong] Funeral Home. They’re in the process of moving them to different locations, some to Mount Ayr and some to Lenox care facilities.”

Lenox Fire Department was the first on scene and when firefighters made entry into the building, they found smoke and the sprinkler system going.

“The sprinklers, I think, did a really good job of containing the fire to the little area,” Briggs said. “The majority of the fire was contained to one room.”

Briggs reported there were no injuries as a result of the fire.

No damage estimates are available yet as the fire remains under investigation. The State Fire Marshal has been notified of the fire.
