National CACFP Week is March 11-17

The National Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is celebrating March 11-17 as National Child and Adult Care Week. CACFP is a federally funded program by United States Department of Agriculture that provides meal reimbursements for serving nutritious meals to:

• Child care and adult care in-home daycares and centers

• Emergency shelters

• Child development homes

CACFP promotes:

• Improving diets of children and adults by providing nutritious meals •

• Help children develop good eating habits that will last through the years

• Encourage daily physical activity

• Ensure the safe environment of state registered homes

• Support working families
