Agnes Maxine Driskell, the daughter of Harvey and Myrtle (Crosley) Toland, was born March 5, 1922, in Kent. When Agnes was 11 years old, her mother passed away and less than six months later, her father passed away. Agnes and her siblings were then raised by her Aunt and Uncle Rachael and Ray Cunningham in Creston. Agnes was educated in Creston and graduated from Creston High School with the class of 1940.

In the fall following graduation, Agnes married Donald Wilson Driskell on Nov. 10, 1940, in Creston. Three sons, Michael, Patrick and Dave were born to bless this union. The family moved to Greenfield in 1945, after Don was discharged from the Navy at the end of WWII.

Agnes spent 35 years at the Greenfield Hospital working as a practical nurse. Following her retirement, she returned to Creston in 1985. Agnes was a member of the United Methodist Church in both Creston and Greenfield.

Preceding Agnes in death was her husband, Donald in 1994; two sons, Patrick and Michael Driskell; brother Ray Toland; sister Irene Veatch; her parents and her youth caregivers, Rachael and Ray Cunningham.

Left to cherish Agnes’ memory is her son Dave (Ann) Driskell of Creston; nine grandchildren, Raymond Driskell, David Allen Driskell, Elizabeth Driskell, John Driskell, Susan Driskell Spangler, Scott Driskell, Dan Driskell, Colleen Wachter and Erica Hung; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and very close friend Shirley Swoyer of Greenfield.
