JV and Freshman boys update

GLENWOOD — The Panther junior varsity boys took a tough 67-38 loss on Jan. 30 at Glenwood.

“We played them tough for three quarters after losing to them in our first game of the season by 42 points,” coach Todd Jacobson said. “We were down six at half and 13 after the third, but we just didn’t get shots to fall like they were in the first three quarters. Proud of the guys. This was proof that they are improving. “

(PTS) — Eli Loudon 10, Camden Peterson 8, Jeffrey Dillenburg 7, Gavin Gillam 6, Payton Pryor 3, Ashton Wills 2, Lee Normandeau 1.

Panthers finish strong vs. Clarinda

Creston trailed in the third quarter of its 62-47 win against Clarinda Friday, but a defensive switch made a large difference for the Panthers.

“We led 25-19 at halftime but had missed some good chances to increase the lead,” Creston coach Todd Jacobson said. “Clarinda came out and took an early lead in the third but we switched back to our man defense and it sparked the team. This was also the first time that everyone got into the scoring column for us.”

The Creston JV boys fell to a tough Atlantic team 63-37 Monday.

Eli Loudon scored 11 points to lead the Panthers in the loss.

“A cold shooting night against a good team from Atlantic tonight,” coach Todd Jacobson said. “We were down 29-20 at halftime and didn’t make that push to cut into the lead. Atlantic outscored us 18-4 in the third quarter to pull away. “

(PTS) — Loudon 11, Payton Pryor 8, Ashton Wills 7, Lee Normandeau 3, Jeffrey Dillenburg 3.
