From Iowa Congressman David Young
Friends,
I’m reaching out to tell you about the 2018 Veterans Care Fairs I am hosting within the next week.
As I work in Congress to advance legislation helping those who served, I’m also committed to ensuring Iowa veterans and their families have access to information and resources about benefits, programs and services available to them.
While there are numerous organizations and government agencies in Iowa whose goal is to assist veterans, sometimes accessing all of these resources can be overwhelming for veterans and their families. The care fairs provide attendees with a “one stop shop” of different services, programs and resources available to Iowa veterans from all levels of government and service organizations.
If you are a veteran or know someone who is, please take a moment to share these details with them. We owe a great deal to those who have served and sacrificed and it’s our duty to show our gratitude to the men and women who answered the call to serve. The Veterans Care Fairs are one small piece of that gratitude.
The fairs are free, open to the public and held at:
• From 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Feb. 9, at Iowa Center for Higher Education Activity Center, 2280 Bell Ave., in Des Moines
• From 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Feb. 12, at Iowa Western Community College – Kanesville Arena, 2700 College Road, in Council Bluffs
If you have any questions about the fairs, call me at the Des Moines Constituent Service Office at 515-282-1909.
